A great project on Mondrian for any age.

Modrain Art Project

Supplies

  • Black electrical tape

  • White poster board or stiff paper

  • Tempera Paint - Blue, yellow, red

  • Scissors

  • Brushes

  • Water container

Instruction

  1. Teach on Mondrian, showing his work

  2. Cut pieces of tape for each person (6 pieces)

  3. Divide paper up using black tape.

  4. Fill in shapes with color making sure to leave some spaces white.

  5. Sign name on back

Students enjoying the process

Observations

  • All ages seemed to enjoy this project. I paired it with Jackson Pollock to contrast their styles. That helped use up the two hours more than just one artist.
